Ben Brazil’s article in QRT #137, “Vocation as Story, Story as Vocation,” reflects on his experiences with a community storytelling event in Richmond, IN and the Ministry of Writing Program at Earlham School of Religion. He discusses the power of story to shape sense of self, identity in community, and pastoral care, weaving the community’s stories together. Brazil states:
“To simplify brutally, stories tell us who we are as individuals and as collectives. … Even as it serves as a tool for ministry, story also provides a distinct perspective on vocation itself.”
